The study determined the nature of employee training, assessed the relevance of training to employees and examineed the effect of training and development on employee performance at the Kpeve Tornu Salvation Army Basic School. The sample size was 50 employees of the Kpeve Tornu Salvation Army Basic School. The training given to emplee were on the job training and off the job training had effect on their performance whilst the remaining (38%) did not relate training to performance. The implication of this is that, there is a direct relationship between training and performance. The Salvation Army Basic School will need to take action to correct its training and development activities, and make sure the processes involved are duly followed and benefit every employee for improved employee performance and for overall achievement of the aims and objectives of the school. en_US
