dc.description.abstract The research investigated the influence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities on student achievement in the West Gonja Municipal. The study identified ICT capabilities as the affordances offered by ICTs in education that students identify and use to meet their learning needs and improve knowledge retention and conceptual understanding of specific domains, which include computational capabilities, graphing capabilities, engagement capabilities, and motivation capabilities. The study is mainly a quasi-experimental research with quantitative research approach. A sample of 120 participants was taken from three Senior High Schools in West Gonja Municipal using the stratified random sampling technique. The study utilized diagnostics tests and a survey questionnaire to collect data, which were analysed with the aid of Python 3.8. At the most global level, the study found that student test scores improved after the treatment was implemented which means each of the ICT capabilities impacted student test scores positively. The study also found that of the four different ICT capabilities, computational ICT capabilities had the most influence on student performance. In line with the findings, the study recommends for Information and Communication Technology to be fully integrated into the SHSs curriculum. The study further recommends that the integration should focus on building the capabilities of SHS students regarding the use of ICT in their educational activities rather than simply providing ICT tools. en_US
