dc.description.abstract The study examined employee development and performance at the Jaman North District Health Directorate in the Bono Region, Ghana. Specifically, four research objectives were investigated; i.e., to analyse the effect of mentoring on employee performance at Jaman North District Health Directorate; to examine the effect of training on employee performance at Jaman North District Health Directorate; to analyse the effect of participation on employee performance at Jaman North District Health Directorate; and to assess the effect of delegation on employee performance at Jaman North District Health Directorate. The study relied on the quantitative approach and correlational design. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data from 169 respondents in the facilities. Using the census method, 150 valid responses with a response rate of 89% was used for data analysis. The data was then processed using the IBM SPSS Statistics (version 26) and SmartPLS (version 3) software. Inferential statistics (multiple regression through partial least squares) was used to address the objectives of the study. The study found that mentoring, training, participation and delegation as dimensions of employee development significantly and positively affect the performance of the employees in the directorate studied. The study therefore recommended that Ghana Health Service (GHS) and Ministry of Health (MoH) should emphasise on continuously strengthening the employee development in the sector. en_US
